# Connect Your Assistant

Add the Remote.It MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini or Kiro — one server URL, OAuth sign-in, no API keys.

Every client connects to the same hosted server with the same URL, and signs you in with OAuth — there is nothing to install and no API key to paste.

{% hint style="info" %}
The MCP server URL is:

```
https://cloud.remote.it/mcp
```

{% endhint %}

Pick your client:

| Client                                            | How it's added                                                                        |
| ------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| [Claude](/mcp-server/connect/connect-claude.md) | A custom connector in Claude on web, desktop or Cowork, or one command in Claude Code |
| [ChatGPT](/mcp-server/connect/connect-chatgpt.md) | A custom connector, added with Developer mode enabled                                 |
| [Grok](/mcp-server/connect/connect-grok.md) | In the Grok web app, provisioned for a team, or attached to xAI API requests |
| [Gemini](/mcp-server/connect/connect-gemini.md)   | A remote MCP server entry in Gemini CLI's `settings.json`                             |
| [Kiro](/mcp-server/connect-kiro.md) | One click, using the Add to Kiro button |

The server works with any MCP client that supports the **Streamable HTTP** transport and **OAuth 2.1** authorization, so other MCP-capable apps can connect the same way using the URL above. Consult your client's documentation for adding a remote MCP server.

## What to do next

Whichever client you use, the rest of the documentation applies the same way:

* [Tool Reference](/mcp-server/tools.md) — every tool the server exposes
* [Prompt Library](/mcp-server/prompt-library.md) — things to ask, grouped by task
* [Permissions & Safety](/mcp-server/permissions-and-safety.md) — scopes, consent, and safety gates
* [Security Review Brief](/mcp-server/security-review.md) — the version to forward to your security team

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.remote.it/mcp-server/connect.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
